Good place for relaxation

Absolutely loved our stay here! Really gorgeous property, extremely welcoming staff and a lot of in house services (floating breakfast, massages, flower bath, shuttle to Ubud, laundry etc) and amenities. We stayed for two weeks and honestly, if we hadn’t already booked another accommodation for the rest of our stay, we would have liked to stay at Rumah Kayu for even longer! The property is stunning, but what really made our experience outstanding was the staff. They made us feel so at home! And they had a whole vegan menu, with many options for breakfast, lunch and dinner. If I ever come back to Ubud I will definitely be staying here again. Thank you for making our vacation so memorable! ?

Location was slightly outside of Ubud, which can be inconvenient for some, but if you want to be away from the craziness of the city, it’s perfect! If you dislike wild animals (frogs, lizards etc) for some reasons, this is probably not the place for you. Because the resort is located in the midst of nature, we had some cute little visitors during our stay, which we personally didn’t mind. Had some issues with towels at the beginning of our stay (they were not looking very clean), but staff gave us new towels right away.

I absolutely cannot rave enough about my experience here. I had such a lovely time in room 15. It truly felt like my own little wonderland. The front staff was so accommodating and handled all inquiries immediately. I will most certainly be back.

The food at the restaurant is terrible even the most simple dishes like rice paper rolls were poorly made or over processed. There is a great restaurant around the corner.

Our stay was absolutely wonderful. We stayed in the private villa and the room was incredible from the bed to the shower. As soon as we arrived, we went to the spa and got the two-hour package with an hour Balinese massage, facial and scrub and it was one of the nicest massages I've had in a long time. The staff were all incredibly friendly and helpful. The food there is nice, however, I do recommend exploring town as there are a lot of great options nearby.

Stunning resort, the staff were exceptional, the rooms were very clean, beautiful and comfortable. The food was also delicious! The staff were wonderful with the children as well! The resort is a beautiful mix of traditional style with all your modern amenities. It is also located in a more rural area with rice fields just around the corner (great for a peaceful morning stroll).

The resort is a fair way out from the Ubud town centre so be prepared for at least one hour in a car each way. A motorbike will be quicker but as we were a family group we opted for cars. There is also a free shuttle operating from the hotel to the centre but it has limited timings. This is advertised as a family friendly resort but I would argue it suits couples and families with older children more. The pool area, while beautiful is quite compact and it felt like we were impeding on other guests' peace a bit sometimes with the smaller children. Just something to be aware of if you're looking at booking for a family or group.

Staff super nice and efficient to satisfy our needs. Free shuttle bus to ubud centre. Restaurant with lots of good food.

Restaurant as a huge menu and so.some products are not too fresh.

Check in and check out was very smooth. All of the staff provide excellent service. We had special requests at the restaurant/kitchen and it was gladly accommodated. Service was very prompt and everyone was friendly and professional. I will stay here again. They all made us feel at home in this villa.

The facilities was amazing, and the rooms was nice and clean.

Unfortunately, the service was not living up to our expectations especially in the restaurant. We experience twice that they only had one item left, so we both couldn’t eat the same meal.. Additionally, there is construction work in the property just besides which creates a lot of noise, I wished that they would have informed us about this before booking, so we could make us decision based on this, since we just wanted to relax.

The staff is amazing, doing all possible to please your stay. Rooms are very nice and pool area is amazing. Locations is good and transfer to Sanur center is very helpful.

I stayed at this hotel with 2 other friends (3 people in total) we all got food poisoning “bali belly” and had to call the doctor. After the first night, we had dinner at the hotel’s restaurant and I got severly sick from what I ate (broccoli or quesadilla, but I suspect it was the broccoli which was boiled in tap water) I had to call the doctor who administrated an IV drip to calm the symptoms. The hotel accepted to cover my medical bill. At this time it was only me who got sick. The second day after I got sick (2 nights at the hotel) my boyfriend also got sick, and started having very high fever and vomitied. After consultation with the doctor, Iv drip and blood test, it resulted it was from a bacterial inflection. I want to mention that we only drank and ate at the hotel, since he stayed with me while I was sick. So he didn’t leave the hotel in the past 48h. In our last day (After 5 nights) my friend also got sick (the one who had the other room in my booking) and vomited 3 times. The hotel called the doctor who came and confirmed it was food poisoning again. There are serious hygene / sanitary problems at this hotel and restaurant. From 3 people, all 3 of us got sick. We were always very careful with what we ate and drank. Only washed our teeth with bottled water, no tap water. Always used handgel to disinfect, etc. We also stayed 5 nights in Ulwuatu and 4 nights in Canggu prior to coming to this hotel and we had no belly problems. Concluding this message, I want to say that staying at this hotel not only impacted our vacation, but also our health. We couldn’t enjoy our vacation in Ubud at all because of their poor sanitary situation. And also, we wanted to change to accommodation, but we couldn’t, because everyday one of us felt very sick and couldn’t get out of the bed.

We only stayed one night but really enjoyed it.The hotel is beautiful and staff were friendly and helpful.Pool area is quite small but lovely and has a beautiful tree lined backdrop.Restaurant was great, food was delicious and breakfast was enormous! Location is quite secluded and with Ubud traffic, although there is a shuttle the journey in/out is easily an hour, there is nothing in walking distance.Rooms are beautiful, bathrooms are great with baths and showers.Treehouse style means soundproofing is minimal, we were woken by the roosters which we liked but others may not! The family 2 bed villas have bedrooms that are separated by an open dining space - this space is great but we felt uneasy having our children apart from us - it’s an ideal set up for 2 couples or those with teenage children but we felt uneasy having our children were too young for this so all ended up in one room!!

Amazing pool, beautiful villas, lovely staff and the yoga was great! Quite a way from ubud and traffic is bad but was perfect to return to and a real oasis

Breakfast was very good. The restaurant quality is very very good for all other meals of the day, as it fits such a resort where amenities are away towards ubud centre.

Location a bit of a disadvantage, but quiet and private nevertheless.

Heavy rain got leaked in to through the gaps on the wall but staff were so quick to come and resolve the issue for us, we couldn't be more grateful:)
